House of Ccuoco SS16: Persephone

One of the last shows at Fashion Scout on Saturday was the sophisticated but edgy Ccuoco, who is now a contestant on Project Runway – how fab is that! Apart from being really jealous the designer has mingled with my favourites Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, the SS16 collection that debuted in Fashion Scout was incredible by all means.

The models hair were like a wind machine had blown it, great texture and bounce, and they wore a deep purple lipstick to boot, as the model strutted down the runway it was evident how much detail went into making each garment. I even saw a glimpse of one of my favourite jewellery companies, Wearing Memories, which dawned the models fingers, dresses and necks – such a clever collaboration.

The collection draws its inspiration from the darker side of romance. Named after the Greek goddess Persephone, who was the daughter of Zeus and the harvest-goddess Demeter, and is the queen of the underworld. Homer described her as a formidable, venerable majestic princess of the underworld, who carried into effect the curses of men upon the souls of the dead. Within the collection, there was satin, metals, chiffon, organza and panel work to die for! The runway presentation was dramatic and edgy as you would imagine, even half way through the catwalk two girls kiss mid-runway – the audience cheer in celebration.
